You’re making the wrong first impression | Level-Up Series

You’re in the right place if you’re:

-Wondering why you’re not getting the clients that you know you deserve

-Working your butt off, but not moving the needle

-Needing more personal/business balance (business is leaking into your personal life)

-Want to work smarter, not harder

During this series, you’ll learn how to make the right first impression, put boundaries in places to get your life back, where to dive in deeper, & taking a look at your services and prices.

In this first part, we’re talking all about first impressions!

Let’s look at your business from the outside to see how it’s being perceived. You may be making the wrong first impressions (attracting the wrong people…or repelling the people who you want to be working with). So ask yourself, “When my potential clients are interacting with my business for the first time?”

What are they seeing?, Are things consistent? Are their questions being answered? How do they inquire? How do they get the information they’re looking for? Who are they working with?…these are all the questions they’re asking in their heads…so what are the answers?

Easy, Organized, & Fun

Easy, organized, and fun has been my business mantra for years now. When clients come out of working with me and they say, “Wow, that was so easy & organized! Goodness, I had a blast and way more fun than I was expecting!”….that is a true compliment. What in your client journey can you apply this mantra?

It’s not just about the way it all looks

Yes, I’m a photographer and I love all the pretty looking things like gorgeous images, pretty fonts, and cohesive color schemes…but it goes way deeper than that. Are you solving their problems, answering their questions, making it easier for them?

When all your branding elements and ease of finding the information your clients are looking for, especially on your website, your perceived value will in turn go up. Potential clients are already making up their minds about working with you and how much they’re willing to pay…well before even knowing your prices.

Take a look at how your client will first interact with your business

Here are some actionable steps to take to make a good first impression:

  1. Take a look at your website and social media. Is your branding consistent (similar colors, designs, styles, etc)…does it look like it belongs to the same company?
  2. Make sure you have an easy inquiry process. How do they contact you? Do you have an inquiry form on your website? Do you have the canned email response ready to go? Put your email address on your website!!
  3. If your inquiry process includes a consultation, make that process easy with a scheduler like Calendly or one through your CRM.
