Boone & Sons is a local family owned jewelry company in the Washington D.C. area–with locations in McLean, Virginia, Chevy Chase, Maryland, and Washington D.C.. They are the epitome of a family run business with 3 generations of Boones currently active within the company…wow! During the time that I worked with the team, I worked with Erika, Nellie, and Michelle–three sisters who all took part in making their vision for the imagery come to life. 

Product Photography Session Goals

I was approached by the team at Boone & Sons, because they were looking to update the product photography on their website and social media. They were noticing that a lot of their customers were looking at their jewelry offerings online prior to coming into the store…they knew they needed to make sure the photography reflected how gorgeous their jewelry was in person. 

Shot list

For their initial set of shots, we took images for the e-commerce part of their website which needed to be square images. Highlighting their best selling earrings, bracelets, rings, and necklaces. The second part of their product photography was photographing collections of jewelry, pieces that made sense to go together–I challenged them to pull pieces together that would be great for holidays or significant events (Mother’s day, Graduation, Christmas, etc.), pieces that have a similar look, and pieces that could be worn together.
