Are you anything like me and you hate Mondays? Like Sundays was always a super anxious time because of all the things you had to do on a Monday. This is why I started doing Meeting-less Mondays.
So Meeting-less Mondays means that I don’t take meetings with clients on Mondays. I leave this day wide open for me to feel like I can catch up with the week and get get ahead rather than feel behind the entire week. On my calendar that I give clients the ability schedule a meeting with me, I have Tuesdays and Thursdays available.
This has been amazing for my weekly workflow!
Fridays are the days that I usually will plan out my next week, so I take out my planner. I will outline all the appointments that I have on next week’s list. I will outline what I have to do for that next week, my to-do list, and then I feel like I’m good to jump into the next week.
Then on Monday morning, I look at that to-do list and I tackle all of my big things without any distractions. I feel like I can get ahead of the week, having all those things done rather than feeling like I’m constantly catching up to what needs to be done. If I had meetings on Mondays, I would feel the anxiety of all the things that need to be done for the rest of the week, rather than just sitting down and getting a whole bunch finished.
This also allows me to feel like I’m kind of easing into the week. I don’t have to hit the ground running. And as an introvert, the thought of like interacting with somebody and being on my game is very, intimidating at times. And so for me not to take a meeting on Mondays means that I get to kind of ease into my work week, get excited about what’s going on tomorrow, get my mind right about the meetings that I have on Tuesdays, and just overall, again, ease in and not have to like be on my game from the get-go on a Monday morning.
I told a bunch of my business girlfriends that I started doing this a while ago and they were like, oh my God. And they’ve instituted this as well and it has been a game changer for each of us. They say how much more they enjoy their weeks now and how they don’t feel the pressure as much either. So, you know, think about instituting meeting less Mondays.
