Sweet Clementines is an Etsy shop that creates personalized gifts and accessories that are made in California, USA. They are well known for their ring dishes in their e-commerce store that are given as wedding, bridesmaids, or client gifts. As a star seller on Etsy, they have the experience to know what kind of images they need for their shop.
Adding an additional product to the e-commerce shop
Emma and her team at Sweet Clementines were looking to add an additional product to their Etsy shop, a line of personalized stemless champagne glasses. Knowing what kind of images do well in her shop, she requested clean and bright images that were simple, but had a few props to compliment her wedding products.
Our shot list looked a little like this:
- individual colors
- one of each color in one shot to show variations
- Groupings of each color with a white glass (to show a bride and her bridesmaid’s glasses)
- Groupings of glasses from a couple different angles
My biggest challenge: The Reflections!
My challenge when photographing their stemless champagne glasses were their reflective & curved surface. I had to make sure that I eliminated dark objects in the background, so as not to create distracting reflections on the surface of the champagne glasses. I even went so far to put a white sheet over my head so that as little of my (black) camera was seen.

As you can see from a screenshot of the Etsy Shop, the team at Sweet Clementines takes my images and uses them to mock up the personalizations they will use on their final images. I thoroughly love seeing my images in the wild and when I see them being used on websites and other e-commerce sites like Etsy, Faire, or Hello Abound, it makes my heart so happy that these small businesses are successful in selling their products because their images highlight how amazing they are!
