Pre-planning a shoot can make the day of go so much more smoothly, and specifically having a pre-made shot list can make sure that we’re staying on task and getting everything we need. Here are some things to keep in mind when making your brand session shot list (and coinciding prop list).
What are some upcoming holidays, promotions, specials, collaborations, etc. that we need to cover so that you have images to go along with your marketing plans? It’s a good idea to look at the next 3-6 months worth of events to make sure that you’re planning appropriately.
Are there any specific ideas you want to include in a shot…even if you don’t know how to do it photographically, let me know and I can help you with that!
Having a moodboard, inspiration from another social media account, or simply a website that you love, helps me dial in my ideas for your shoot as we brainstorm together. Gives me a good idea of your imagery preferences & a plan for your session. Consider putting together a pinterest board of about 30 images for us to use as we’re planning your session and shot list.
Along with specific themes or ideas, I also need to know if you have any composition notes for your images, especially if you’re needing an image for a specific need (magazine, website header, etc.). Let me know what platform you’ll be using your images for, specific sizing requirements, do you need negative space in your image?
