Plane Cupcakes is about to make a cross-country move and Rebecca wanted to make sure that her business was all ready to take on a new market. Yes, this is the perfect time to rebrand! The business she wants
Rebecca and I have been planning her session for the better part of a year as she put many of her back end systems in place so that her business would run as smoothly as possible. As she really started figuring out what she wanted her business to be, she would make notes about what she wanted her brand session to consist of. YES!! She made the intentional decisions about how her business would fit around her family & their military lifestyle…creating a great vision plan for the short & long term.
Cupcakery brand session shotlist
With this clear plan, we created a shotlist that reflected the business that she wants to be in her next market. The list centered around a lot of her processes and the distinct brand that she has created. Here’s a peek into her shot list:
- Prepping ingredients/tools
- Mixing ingredients, scooping into liners

- Preparing decorations, different decor options
- Packaging cupcakes- stamping, assembling, placing cupcakes

Shooting her brand session outside of a kitchen
Due to the current nature of her business, we chose not to do her session in a bakery/kitchen. When she lands in her next market, she is unsure of whether she will be in a home kitchen as a cottage baker or a commercial kitchen, so we chose to take that aspect out of the equation. Instead, we shot at a clean and neutral location in Annapolis, Maryland, the Lightbox Studio. The studio gave us many different backgrounds to choose from, giving us variety in Rebecca’s final gallery.
