Port of Leonardtown Winery is located in Leonardtown, Maryland is the first commercial winery in St. Mary’s county. They are a part of the Southern Maryland Wine Growers Cooperative (SMWGC), which was at the forefront of the move away from agriculture tobacco production towards the emerging wine and tourism in the local area.

Maryland Wine Month & Presentation of Governor’s Cup

To open up Maryland Wine month in March, they hosted an event where they were awarded the Governor’s Cup. The Governor’s Cup is a prestigious award that is given annually to the best Maryland wine, a wine that is produced solely from products made in Maryland.
