Kristin, the owner of District Brand Bar, is all about helping small businesses master their brand and marketing strategies. Based in the heart of Washington, D.C., she knows firsthand how overwhelming it can be to juggle it all. That’s where her expertise comes in—crafting dynamic strategies that are as well-balanced as a perfectly mixed cocktail. For her brand session, we kept everything on theme, reflecting her lively personality and the energy of her business. (This is our second session together, check out our last session here!)
At Kia & Co., we take pride in creating brand sessions that align with our clients’ personalities and goals, and Kristin’s was no exception. I traveled to Washington, D.C., to capture her in her element, showcasing the vibrancy of her brand. Traveling for brand sessions is something I love to do, whether it’s Washington D.C., Huntsville, or anywhere else—because each location adds a new flavor to the story we’re telling.
For Kristin’s session, we chose a series of locations that highlighted the bold, colorful, and professional vibe of her brand. We started at the Moxy Hotel, a modern, upbeat venue that perfectly complemented Kristin’s style. From there, we moved to the historic Carnegie Library for a classic touch, then headed to City Center for lunch at a bar, because, of course, we needed to keep the cocktail theme alive!
We also stopped by Blagden’s Alley, known for its eye-catching murals, adding a pop of color to her brand imagery. It’s all about crafting a cohesive look while keeping things fresh, which is exactly what Kristin’s brand is all about—vibrancy, creativity, and professionalism.
One of the things that makes Kristin’s brand stand out is her cocktail theme. During the session, we leaned into that by capturing moments of Kristin celebrating her clients with a bottle of champagne and mixing up cocktails. But, of course, we didn’t forget that she’s a sharp, strategic marketing professional. We also included shots of her working with notebooks, her phone (because social media is key!), and her laptop—tools of the trade for any marketing guru.
Kristin’s session is a great example of how we, at Kia & Co., design sessions with purpose. Whether it’s a notebook or a champagne bottle, every detail serves a function in telling the story of her business. That’s the kind of intentionality we bring to every session, focusing on the client’s goals and how they’ll use the images for their marketing.
