Investing in a brand session is a big decision! You’ve gotten to the point in your business where you really want to show your audience what a professional you are and having imagery that is consistent will add so much trust to your brand. Before we work together, these are some questions that you should ask yourself. I want you to get the most out of your brand session so that it results in images that you will truly use for your marketing needs.
In order to have a successful brand session that truly shows who you are and what your business does, we need to start with what your goals are. I want you to have images that go beyond the surface, and really showcase your brand. Knowing where you’re headed, ensures that you’re getting those personalized images that you need for your business.
Ultimately, my number one mantra is show what you want to do! It’s so easy, but can take us so far in our businesses. No one will know what services we are offering or products that we are now selling if you don’t show them. I want to equip you with the images that will help you talk about & show all these things!
This is a good time to start looking at what you have going on over the next 1-3 months. What is coming up that you will need images for? Do you have a course launch that you need imagery for? What about your newsletters, paid ads, and website?
Many times as we reach the holiday season, my clients have more and more requests for imagery that is completely based on their busy season…but if we don’t have it on our mind in July or August, we can miss the opportunity to be sharing imagery for these pushes throughout the entire sales season (October-December).
When you’re going to post a blog or caption, what is some of the images that you are finding yourself needing and wishing you had to compliment what you’re talking about?
Another way to think about this is, what are the images that you find yourself using over and over again and want more of? I find myself using images of me working over and over, so this is an image that I always request from my own brand photographer, that way I have lots of images to cycle through when I’m building a blog or IG post.
What are the visual elements that you want to bring out your brand? Do you want the simplicity of your brand to come through? Or do you want the colors to really pop? Thinking about what parts of your brand we will showcase will dictate your location, props, and clothing. (We plan all these things at your planning session.)
Thinking about your client experience is complete image gold for me at a branding session. I love highlighting your process so that we can take your potential clients behind the scenes of your business (they eat that shit up!!). Clients want a little sneak peek into what it’s going to be like to work with you by taking a peak behind the curtain. Highlighting 2-3 parts of your process will not only add to the diversity of your gallery, but also give you the imagery you need when talking all about what makes your business so dang amazing.
Having an idea of how you will be using your images will make my job as your photographer so much easier, thus getting you the images you need for your purposes. Are you using your images in a magazine? Well will need to make sure that we keep in mind the formatting of the magazine, leaving white space for text and making sure that we have the correct image orientation.
